The Remnant Cover-2The Remnant: Available Now

The most dangerous idea in human history and philosophy remains the belief that Jesus Christ was the son of God and rose from the dead …(Quote: P. Hitchens)”

Imagine a world where this dangerous idea was made illegal, the true church no longer free but outlawed, hunted and driven underground. With the disappearance of a deity, hope plummeted, crime rose, marriage became a thing of the past and after-birth abortion became common practice.

This is the world Hunter Rhodes grew up in. But he is part of the resistance, belonging to the alpha cell of a group called “The Remnant.” They exist to strengthen the rebellion against a tyrannical government. They hide in plain sight. But one of them just got exposed. He is in prison, being beaten and tortured for information that could lead to their annihilation.

What happens next for the Remnant? Will they run? Disband? Give up? Or stand and fight? One thing for sure is that the world always underestimates the persecuted church. Things are just heating up for the Remnant and you are going to want to watch.

shadows coverThe Shadows Where We Walk

“Ethan is just an ordinary teenager until a catastrophic event leaves him caught between two worlds. Dark forces reveal their destructive plans for his friends and family as Ethan is thrown into a supernatural battle for his future- and that of the entire town.”

The Shadows Where We Walk is the debut novel from Clare McIvor and has received rave reviews from readers since its launch in November 2013. “I do find it crazy and almost heartbreaking that I can spend two years writing a book only to have it gobbled up by readers in one or two days. But I guess that’s the way the cookie crumbles” laughs Clare. “That said, if it only takes someone a day or two, I must be doing something right.”

Clare is the eldest daughter of Christian ministers in the Australian city of Sale. She grew up aware that there was a spirit world and was fascinated by angels and demons. But it wasn’t until her teenage years and her work with youth that she started to realise just how much the unseen world impacts on the seen world. “There is just so much pressure on young people – think this, don’t think that. Believe this, don’t believe that. I look around and I am starting to see that it is okay to be anything but Christian. And it makes me more determined to write stuff that relates to young people who are pursuing this faith. It’s not a road for chickens. It’s a road for the brave and I wrote Shadows in order to make it so clear to young people what they are dealing with.”

But it’s not just a book with a message. It’s a nail biter. Clare draws the reader into the action within the first pages of the book and it doesn’t let up until the end. “Kept me on the edge of my seat whilst simultaneously making me question everything I believe in” said one reader. Another said “its a must read for anyone and everyone. Really gives you a different perspective on the spirit world.

It’s young adult supernatural fiction with a Christian theme, but it has been read across all walks of life. “The oldest of my readers is 84! I hope I’m that cool when I am that age” she says. “It doesn’t even matter if you are Christian or not. If you love supernatural fiction but don’t love how dark it sometimes gets with all the emphasis on horror, this one is for you.”
